Foot reflexology — Marta C., Elizabeth NJ

The map of the foot

Reflexology is based on the idea that the feet hold “reflex points” connected to different parts of the body. Stimulating them aims to activate the body’s natural processes and improve overall wellbeing.

The foot reads like a map: the toes match the head and neck; the ball of the foot, the chest; the arch, the abdominal organs; the heel, the lower back and pelvis; and the inner edge, the spine.

It complements wellbeing; it is not medical treatment — reflexology does not diagnose or cure disease. What it does very well is relax you.

What a session looks like

When it’s best to wait

There are times when it is better to postpone a session or get your doctor’s approval first. It is not a “no” forever: it is taking good care of you. We go over all of this together at your first assessment.

Not sure about your case?

Message us before booking. We listen, review your history and, if needed, wait together for your doctor’s approval.

Ask on WhatsApp
  • Wounds, fungus or infections on the feet

We wait for them to heal, for your comfort and for hygiene.

  • Fractures, sprains or acute gout

The foot needs rest before it receives pressure.

  • Thrombosis or fever

We postpone the session and you check with your doctor.

  • Pregnancy, especially the first trimester

Only with medical approval and an adapted technique.

  • Diabetes with reduced feeling in the feet

It can be done, but with very careful pressure. Let us know so we adapt it.
